Ascension weekend 12.05-16.05.2021

It’s an adventure for the little ones; For the grown-ups, it’s pure relaxation!

On Wednesday evening, Rocki and Roman give you a warm welcome on their cozy two masted clipper called the “Ortolan”. After you have set up your cabins, we come together in the living room area for a meeting and an evening snack buffet. Together we discuss the weather situation, choose a sailing route and toast to an unforgettable weekend. After breakfast, we will meet on deck, where the first mate gives you a sailing instruction. The children get an “Ortojournal” with which they learn tasks and skills such as knotting, steering and navigating and also they can record what they saw and where we have been. When the sails are up and the Ortolan is on course, we have all the time to relax. Pick up a book or give yourself a try at the steering wheel. Or, we choose a destination that is in the wind, then it’s time to sail actively. Whatever we decide to, sailing will fill you up with energy. At noon Rocki will cook you a wonderful lunch and, of course, there will be served treats at coffee and thee time. Below decks there is a great collection of boardgames for young and old and also the children can do handicrafts, paint or tie bracelets while sailing, so that everyone has a relaxing time on board.
Normally we arrive in the port in the afternoon, so you can discover the island or the harbor town on your own. In the evenings Rocki will treat you with a 2-course menu. Activities for the children are planned every day so that the adults have time for relaxation and themselves. In total we will sail to 3 different locations. We sail to picturesque towns such as Enkhuizen and Medemblik. If the wind is favorable we sail to an island in the Wadden-Sea like Texel or Vlieland, maybe we can fall dry or we can even do a campfire with stick bread and marshmallows but surely we will pick out a route that everybody will enjoy. On Sunday morning, the adults can sleep out and wake up to a calm and silence breakfast buffet , because we will go on a treasure hunt with our little sailors. After the breakfast has been digested, we sail back to our home port of Stavoren. With fresh energy and a ton of new experiences and impressions you will come home. And we’re almost certain that it won’t be your last sailing trip.
