Discover the most beautiful nature in the Frisian Lake District with the Ortolan.

On Sunday evenings we warmly welcome you on our beautiful sailing ship. We, Roman and Rocki, will guide you way on board and toast to an eventful week with you. The week stands entirely in the name of wanderlust. Great hiking routes along picturesque Frisian villages and great nature extend over a total distance of over 40 kilometers. Discover Stavoren, Heeg and Sloten, 3 of the 11 towns in Friesland, stroll through the small streets and across the large beach in Lemmer, along the waterside of the lake plateaus and canals and the seemingly endless fields. Scout out the local wildlife, watch birds breed in the reed and with a bit of luck you can even spot one of the bald eagles that have made Waterland their home. During the tour you will be culinary provide by Rocki. In the morning before you set off, there is an continental breakfast, you will also receive a strengthening lunch (during the hike in the form of packed lunches, of course) and in the evening a 2-course menu will be served on board. The ship will always await you at the destination of the day with a warm shower, fresh coffee and a wonderfully cozy livingroom to put your feet up on. But of course we would also like to bring, our passion, sailing, closer to you. That’s why there are also 2 days of sailing after the hiking days. We decide together where to sail. When the sails are up and our beautiful clipper is on course, you have all the time to relax. Take a book, let your mind and soul unwind and try yourself at the steeringwheel. Sailing brings joy, is good for your soul and creates new energy. When we arrive at the port in the afternoon, you can tour through the city. After dinner, there is also the chance let the evening sink away in one of the many cozy cafés. On Friday we sail back to our home port, you will be amazed how quickly you can put the skills you learned yesterday into practice and get the Ortolan sailing. Our tour ends in Stavoren and we are certain that we will see each other again on board of the Ortolan.
