Family vacation, who doesn’t know it, either the kids are bored or the adults can’t relax. But don’t worry, we got you!

Regardless of whether you are traveling with the whole family, leaving one parent at home or grandpa and grandma are out with the children, the Crew of the Ortolan ensures that everyone comes to relax.
Saturday is the day of arrival. At 12 o clock, Rocki, Roman and their first mate welcome you to on board of their beautiful two-mast- Clipper called the “Ortolan”. After you have arrived and moved into your cabins, we come together for a welcome round. You get to know your fellow sailors and the crew, Roman introduces you to life on board and there is a delicious welcome buffet. Next up we will come together on deck. Our first mate will give you an introduction to sailing before we start. The children are given a booklet, called “the Ortojournal” in which they can tick off tasks such as steering, navigating and knotting, so that the little ones also become real sailors at the end of the trip. Together we set the sails and head towards the Wadden Sea. We will experience a lot of great things on our trip. We will visit and explore islands, fall dry, watch seals, collect mussels (if the yield allows it, cook them too) anchor at the sea, gaze at the stars and get to know the wildlife of the mudflats better and with a little luck spot porpoises. We have put together a spacious range of activities to ensure the balance between shared family experiences, activities for children and relaxation for adults. On board, in addition to sailing, the children can do handicrafts, help in the galley or discover the Ortolan’s game collection. Furthermore a treasure hunt on the island and crab fishing in the harbor is planned for the children, so that the adults, now and then, have some time for themselves. In addition to the Life on board, we also want to show you the most beautiful places in the Dutch Wadden area. Count sheep on Texel, lay in the sun on Vlielands beach or stroll through the dunes of Terschelling, the Wadden Islands have a lot to offer. That is why we are looking for a nice day that we will spend entirely on one of the islands. We’ll comp you a bike and prepare a packed lunch so you can explore the island on your own.
During the trip you will get culinary treated by Rocki, who always has an eye on our well-being. It is important to her that the meals are cooked mostly with regional ingredients and of course that they are healthy, but above that its most important tastes good to everybody. In addition to the main meals, delicious snacks are served at coffee and teatime.
As you can see, an all-round feel-good package is offered on board, so that on Friday afternoon, when we have reached the end of our journey, you would like to book another week.
